My Journey to Asheville
“I’ve found the truest paths always lead through mountains…..” Kate Wolf
If your path has led you to the enchanting mountains of western North Carolina, you have found the perfect guide for your journey to find a home in the Asheville area. I have lived in a number of North Carolina communities, Asheville, Arden, Chapel Hill, Greensboro, and most recently, Hendersonville.
Prior to my return to North Carolina in 2002, I lived in many beautiful areas of our country: from my birthplace near Knoxville, in the gentle Cumberland Mountains of east Tennessee, to my childhood and adolescence in the water wonderland of Michigan, to the white sand beaches of northwest Florida, and the rugged mountains and canyons of Colorado. My happiness has always been somewhat dependent on an abundance of natural beauty, the opportunity for a wide range of outdoor activities, and the support of a vibrant artistic, educational, spiritual, and cultural community. I can say, without reservation, that western North Carolina encompasses them all.
Following my retirement from middle school teaching in Colorado, the desire to return to the Asheville area resurfaced. It may have been my memories of the beauty of an Appalachian spring, or the opportunity to mountain bike in Bent Creek or Dupont Forest, or to kayak and canoe on the French Broad River or Lake Lure, that inspired my return. Perhaps it was the wildflower hikes in Pisgah National Forest, the abundant class offerings at the Center for Creative Retirement, the Friday night summer Art Walks in Asheville, or the strains of banjo and fiddle music ringing through these gentle mountains, welcoming me home. No doubt, it was a combination of these, coupled with the friendliness of both the native residents and those relocated to our area from throughout the country and the world.
Whatever brings you to our area: welcome. I am glad you are here. My goal as a realtor is to minimize the stress of transitioning to a new home, by helping my clients clarify upfront what is most important to them. What I appreciated most as a buyer or seller of my own homes was having enough information to make a sound financial decision. I extend that same courtesy and expertise to my clients. I appreciate the opportunity to help you find your dream home in western North Carolina, or to assist you in the sale of your current home.
